Review: Maybelline Volume Express ONE BY ONE mascara

I was supposed to review this product on Camera, but my HD converter is messed up so, I'll just blog about it.

So I finally ran out of the 2 mascaras that I had been circulating since the end of last year.(it just got its 3 month expiration and some dried up)

Also earlier this year, Maybelline came out with the ONE by ONE mascara. I couldn't get it yet because I don't like stocking up on mascara, which I would eventually toss out because of its life-span.

As a little side note: I want to let you guys know that I love the "Falsies" also from Maybelline, and I didnt have any plan on replacing it until I read a lot of good (and bad) reviews with the ONE by ONE. Honestly, I had a little bit of a hard time with the Falsies too. I won't deny that it didn't clump on me because it did. I just had my tricks to make it work, and it did. There was just too much product on the brush it self that makes it clumpier when it gets on to your lashes. Overall, I still love the Falsies.

So onto my actual product review:

I would like to credit google images for the picture above.
Price: Ranges from $5-$7
-depending where you purchase it. I got mine at Walmart for $5.95 (but a couple weeks ago they had it on sale for $5 :p )

- The bristle is rounder, designed to actually get to your lashes individually and coat it. Which will give you the maximized volume as possible. In the picture above the brush is orange, because its the regular formula. I have a blue brush(waterproof)

-The packaging is similar to the other volume express mascara, except this one is bright tangerine-pink in color, and a bright blue turquoise blue rim.

The One by One is not as thick in consistency as the falsies, but not sheer either.
It is not as clumpy. It really does separate my lashes. I was trying to see if how far I can actually take this mascara to be very build-able or not, So far maybe medium. That's it. It only gives a very natural finish, but your lashes have more volume and length than having no mascara at all. So this mascara is great for an everyday use.

I got one in the waterproof formula. I would normally not pay attention if the mascara is waterproof or not, I will just pick the color and get on with my shopping. Because of this, whenever my allergies come (usually 15 minutes after I apply my makeup in the morning) I would sneeze, and the mascara would smudge under my eye! And I would literally curse at the wind for not getting a waterproof one!

So... I finally took my sweet time and looked for a waterproof one. The purpose of having a waterproof mascara, is that it helps keep the curl in your lashes longer compared to using a none waterproof one.

My lashes routine will be curling my lashes for the first time, apply 1 coat of mascara, curl it I wore it all day today, and I didn't get any smudging. Although I noticed a little bit of flaking. The flaking came about around 6 hours from the time I first applied the mascara. In my opinion it isn't really that bad, and no raccoon eye!

So overall, this mascara is not as amazing as the hype is making it to be. Although it can be a holy grail to anybody as well. As I mentioned, this can be a very nice everyday mascara, but don't expect it to give you a dramatic lashes because it won't.

I would definitely repurchase this mascara again. As always, we are always on a hunt for the "next best thing" out there.

Also, each individual's lashes are different, as our DNA's are. So this blog review is my 100% honest opinion, and please respect it, because I got a negative comment in my previous mascara that my review is not accurate as what the Mascara is intended for. Again, we are all different, different skin types and color, of course products will have different effects on different skin.

Mascaras on my "TO TRY LIST"
-Lancome Hypnose waterproof mascara
-L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara
-Makeup Forever aqua smokey lash
- Maybelline Full and Soft mascara

I hope you enjoyed this review!!
XOXO,
Grace

First Impression: Urban Decay Naked Palette

So its finally here!! My own Urban Decay Naked Palette!

My pictures are not giving justice to how this palette looks like.
will follow up a video review/first impressions to this post so dont worry!
12 eye shadows including 4 new ones

24/7 eyeliner duo in Zero(black) and Whiskey(brown)

Mini size Original Primer Potion

So this palette includes 12 full size eye shadows! A single eye shadow is 0.05 oz, and if you buy an eye shadow individually that's $17 each x 12, that's $204 total just for the shadows alone. So for this palette being only $44, I think that is a steal! In this palette you also get a duo 24/7 eyeliner in ZERO and WHISKEY. Both are in the permanent line. The exterior packaging is a chocolatey in color and its velvety to the touch. Its very sophisticated. Not like other the other palettes from urban decay with the unnecessary graffiti.

So today I have swatches for you, my full review will be coming up very sooon.

All the swatches does not have any primer. I wanted to showcase these eye shadows the way they are. So far my favorite all over eyelid color is toasted, crease color is either hustle, buck or naked. Virgin as a highlighter. Virgin is the lightest color in the palette. A lot of the finishes in this palette is either a satin or very shimmery. So that's a biggie for me because I like matte colors. In this palette, there's only two. Both of the matte colors can be used as transition or crease colors. Toasted reminds me of MAC's all that glitters, except that toasted is  bit on the bronzy side.

Again, this isn't my full on review, just my first impressions.

Thanks for taking your time and reading this!!

L'oreal Hip Duo Collection and Swatches

So far I have a mixture of both the matte(not really that matte) and shimmery shadows

L'oreal Hip Concentrated Eyeshadow duos

Pigmentation is amazing except for the white/cream color that came with "flash", you can barely see it in my swatches, but overall this eyeshadow duos are cheaper than mac eye shadows. They are available at most drugstores (U.S./ Canada)
Sometimes, It could be a hit or miss on each duos, like one eyeshadow can be more pigmented than the other. I recommend using a primer or a base under these shadows. The packaging is ok at best. You can also depot these eye shadows and create your own palette.
My personal favorite, is Dynamic, Charisma, and cheeky. I have tutorial inspired by Miley Cyrus' Video "can't be tamed" where I used the Dynamic duo. Its on my Youtube channel. The Price depends where you get it, usually Walmart carries them, and its always cheaper than all the drugstores, but CVS/Walgreens will usually have a sale, as well as Ulta. Price ranges from $6-$8. If there's a sale, these babies can even be as cheap as $2.50. So don't forget to try them out. =)

Review: MAC FALSE LASHES MASCARA

Review: MAC FALSE LASHES MASCARA

"Fashionably false in look, but honestly real, this mascara's key benefits of volume and curl are matched by a dramatic end look. The unique edge: the ultra-thickening formula in combo with the plush-'em-up action of its unique double-lush brush."

Price: $18.00 (U.S.) available at any MAC counter, Store, Nordstrom and www.maccosmetics.com
-For a higher end mascara, this is actually worth a try because if you compare it to other higher end like Lancome, Estee Lauder, the MAC mascara is cheaper.
To be honest with you, I really think there is not single mascara out there that  can give you the "false lashes" effect, but there are a lot that claims they can. This new MAC mascara also came out with the MAC and Marcel Wanders collection. Same packaging but the details are different. The Mascara from the permanent line has the name "False Lashes" on it, while the MAC and Marcel mascara, has the collection name on it.

As you can probably tell in the video,, my lashes are naturally straight and very short. That is also one of the reasons why I am always on the hunt for the best mascara. Who isn't? I suggest two coats, for each eye. Three coats can make it a little two much. Warning spider legs!

My Lashes are definitely different with this mascara! It is so long and still looking natural. =)

Its very lightweight. I tried to curl it and this mascara kept my curls all day. Its amazing. Also I did try it without curling my lashes. It even curled my lashes a bit. So that's crazy amazing!

As I said in my review video, it can take up to 20-30 seconds before the mascara dries, so that is plenty of time for you to work with the lashes.

I am not a big fan of higher end mascaras, but this one caught my attention, and to my luck. It became a holy grail. Ive only own it for a couple of days, so we'll see how well it lasts in the bottle, if the formulation changes over time as well.

REVIEW: E.L.F. Mineral Primer

E.L.F. Mineral Primer

Price: $3.00 www.eyeslipsface.com
Packaging: It comes in a tube, and it has a wand. Not as complicated as UDPP. If you dont get all of the product? Just get another one. I bet you're getting more product usage from this $3 one compared to the UDPP.
Consistency: Wateyr, feels slippery and greasy when first applied. Let it sit and it works as well as high end primers (ie, UD or TFSI)
Color: It has a peachy pink tone to it, but once applied. Its seems to disaapear (which really doesnt matter)

I tried it on with drugstore and department store shadows. It lasted for more than 8 hours. I was very impressed. It didn't crease at all!!  This primer really helps my drugstore shadow show up and look even better!  For something as cheap as this and works as well as high end ones. I'm leaning toward buying this more than a $17 primer. Wouldn't you?

Here's a Swatch that I did with MAC Eyeshadow in Black Tied. Black tied is not matte compared to CARBON. It has some shimmer on it, but not a lot.

Side by side with Too Faced Shadow insurance, and I don't see any difference. If you have the money too splurge on UDPP or TFSI, go ahead. This is just my opinion and a little bargain find that is really worth a try.
